AWARDS

1853 NEW YORK

Twenty-sixth Annual Fair of the American Institute

The exhibition would open on the 6th day of October, 1853 but in consequence of the delay on the part of exhibitors in bringing forward their contributions, the day of opening was postponed until Monday, the 10th. It is proper to observe that the Crystal Palace (1853-4 New York) opened in July last and the novelty of this exhibition, purporting to exhibit the products of all nations, drew a large number of exhibitors who were in the habit of attending the Fairs of the Institute.
