JONES MEDIUM  CS

 Vibrating Shuttle 

The Jones Medium Cylinder Shuttle was a larger version of the Family C.S designed for use by seamstresses and tailors. There is very little information on this model but from information gleaned from serial numbers we know approximately 180.000 of these machines were made and that production ceased shortly after the start of WWII.

Jones may have started production of the Medium CS model at the same time as the Family CS model, or production could have started later, however there are no Medium CS records with the typical medallion in the center of the machine bed. To facilitate their dating I will use the same Type No. used for Jones Family CS. This Type No. could later be changed based on new information.

Jones Medium CS sewing machines, were commonly produced as treadle machines.

Jones Family Type 10 "Black Diagonal 1" were produced in 1930 circa.

The "Tear Drop" decals of this machines corresponding to Type 9 of the "Jones Family CS", were produced between 1926 and 1936 circa.

JONES sewing machines, labelled BRADBURY, were made after 1925.

The "Black Diagonal 2" decals of these machines corresponding to Type 11 of the "Jones Family CS", were produced between 1930 c. and 1936 c..

JONES MEDIUM CS

Machine

Bed decal similar to the Jones CS No.35 and Jones CB machines. This kind of decal was used until 1958 c.. The serial number located on top right hand side. The shape of the body is unchanged. Not having available the serial number, I am not sure if this machine was an old one only re-painted or if  it was still manufacturing.
